Hi! On Monday the 14th May we’re off to Ukraine for prison concerts and also a church  concert in Kiev Sunday 20th at 6PM. (“The tabernacle”, Kablukova 6, Kiev   http://www.skinia.org.ua/   )  Back home on the 21st. Kaarle Mannila and Edijs Veips will join me for this trip.

Monday 21st working in Pitäjänmäki/Helsinki in Markus Vainiomäki’s studio (againÜ) to record two lead vocals for a compilation released by Aikamedia.

YSTÄVÄT – Hilja Aaltonen levyprojekti on ihan loppusuoralla, tänä viikonloppuna saamme levyt ja sunnuntaina 29.4  on ensimmäinen konsertti tämän tiimoilta; Korson helluntaiseurakunnassa, Myyrätie 6, 01450 Vantaa,  klo 16. Lämpimästi tervetuloa! Mukana Kimmo Suomela ja Wilma Witick joka laulanut taustoja myös levyllä.

Hi! Even in the northern parts of Europe there’s definitely a promise of spring in the air although right now it feels it’s suspended…anyway, the next trip for me will be to northern Italy, southwest of Turin. Operation Mobilization (OM) runs a three-month course for artists who are into mission work, a course where the craft of the particular art form is not taught per se, but more the thinking and the Biblical foundation behind it. Another thing: The Finnish album (which means I’m going to write this mainly in Finnish; the plan is to post rough English translations on the lyrics though – very soon)… Eli, AVOIN TAIVAS – Lauluja Hilja Aaltosen sydämeltä menee  huomenna masterointiin ja tämän kuun viimeisellä viikolla pitäisi levy olla kädessä. Tämä on ollut toisenlainen ja mielenkiintoinen projekti; on ollut hienoa saada tutustua Hiljaan ja hänen ajatuksiinsa. Levyn tuottaja Markus Vainiomäki on tehnyt hienon juoksun – kiitos Markus! Ja kiitos kaikille jotka ovat osana yhteistä projektia!

Sunnuntaina 29.4 on keikka tämän uuden levyn tiimoilta Vantaalla, Korson helluntaiseurakunnassa http://www.korsonhelluntaisrk.fi/  klo 16. Mukana Kimmo Suomela ja Wilma Witick. Sunday 29th April Nina’s concert (AVOIN TAIVAS Hilja Aaltonen-album) in Vantaa/Korso at 4 PM.

This coming week (8th Feb onward) we’ll be recording lead and backing vocals on the Hilja project; in Helsinki at Markus Vainiomäki’s studio.

Towards the end of the month we’re off to Russia.

Thusrsday 19th Jan Nina’s doing a guest performance in Kokkola/Snellmansali (starting at 6PM). It is a “Eurovision night” put together by pupils, personnel and parents of Kyrkbackens skola, under the supervision of Annika Sandvik. Together with the pupils Nina will sing her Eurovision 2000 entry “A Little Bit”.

Wednesday&Thursday 25th-26th Jan in Sweden, performing on Kanal10  (www.kanal10.se) live broadcast both nights 6PM to 11PM Swedish time

Working on a new album in Finnish – Hilja Aaltosen teksteihin on Hannu Huhtala (ja Nina yhden laulun verran:) säveltänyt laulut jotka Nina yhdessä tuottaja Markus Vainiomäen kanssa on työstämässä levyksi, jonka suunniteltu julkaisuajankohta on huhtikuu. Levyn julkaisee Aikamedia. Erittäin jännittävä projekti joka kokonaisuudessaan on vaikuttanut minuun suuresti, sanoo Nina.

We visited (did a concert) six prisons/institutes and also gave a concert and participated at the prison ministry 10th anniversary in Kiev.
